Souvenirs from Stockholm, Sweden

Hej to All,

“When I used to read fairy tales, I fancied that kind of thing never happened, and now here I am in the middle of one!” – Lewis Caroll.

I was not only thinking about this phrase but also living it while in Stockholm. Well, Sweden may not be a fairytale land but it certainly has the potential of being a backdrop to hold one.

If I can learn anything from the capital of Scandinavia, it would be to embrace your past while stepping into the future. They have an army of multinational giant companies founded in their homeland which brings modernization to them but at the same time, they are also holding tight to their heritage and culture as a precious gem. Be it cobblestoned streets of old town, the legacy of bridges, vintage homes or even their age-old community building traditions like FIKA.

The Medival Architecture from the middle age can be seen in the entire capital. Absolute drool worthy Churches depicting the Romanesque monasteries. Bright & Colourful houses with clear blue skies & stark blue water to instantly pick you up.

Enjoy Stockholm from my lens hope you enjoy them as much as I loved capturing them.

Gamla Stan is said to be one of the Oldest Town in Europe, where Stockholm was founded in 1252. A walk in Gamla Stan will be like Time Machine which will take you to Medieval times.

How Dramatic are the Clouds Looking?

Stockholm treated us with a surreal Sunset over the evening strolls on our last day. Maybe the idea of absorbing it last time was making it charismatic.

Spicy Trek @ Udumbanchola, Kerala

When you think of India and Indian Cuisine, what prompts your mind??

Umm…  rich food with exotic Spices ..yaa but where do all these spices come from.

Well, I don’t know about All but I certainly know where most of it comes from. It would be unfair to not to dedicate a whole post to the magical spice gardens of Kerala.

During my recent visit to Kerala, I visited Udumbanchola in Idukki district of Kerala. which is as twisted as its name and as mysterious as its soil. Put your hand anywhere in soil & there will be some exotic plant or medicinal herb or a rare fruit at the stretch.

We stayed in the dreamiest place, Hotel Ragamaya Resort & Spa, Munnar with the most insane view. If you ever visit Munnar, stay here to do the epic #viewfrommyroom hashtag.

The View
Through the Balcony

This Hotel is located on top of a hill overlooking the reservoir of Kallar dam and forest surrounding it. We very bravely and enthusiastically trekked all the way to the down to the spice garden.

We got up early morning at 4:30am and through a scary jeep ride, we reached the starting point to trek. Through the labyrinth of exotic & aromatic greens, we reached the river.  The Serenity, calmness, and stillness of the place topped with pink sunrise was a sight to behold.

It gives me chills to think about the beauty this place holds. The trees, the birds, the insects, the water, the sun & the freshest of dew. and to think about that, I am made by the same God who made these creatures and this nourished soil. I felt a sense of pride and responsibility to take care of Mother nature so that my generations could felt the same magic as I do.

Enjoy my mere attempt at capturing the beauty of the nature & Like if you love them.
