The end is the New Beginnings, Happy New Year 2017

Can Somebody kick me in the butt.. so that I wake up from the dream that 2016 is asking for closure.

I like new years. They bring a feeling of starting over again, make things right again if not already and having a fresh year to roll over with the new experiences.

It’s astounding how we leave the whole year behind, no matter if that was good, bad, average or worst. There lies a new book to write on, a new dream to live on & even new hobbies to pursue on.

2016 had been an elaborate year for me. Unfortunate Loss of some humble souls, met with amazing people, traveled to places, lost weight, dined out, gained weight and had a fun time being ALIVE.

Speaking of New Years, Resolutions comes handy. I am not much of a resolution person but last year I made one be fit and kind of achieved it for good part of it. Coming Year I think am gonna work on my concentration & focus to accomplish certain things I think I should.

While I wish to make a better version of myself in coming years to be. I cannot thank God enough for watching over me and perpetually working overtime to keep me in good hands.

Chronicles of 2016 for all of you and me.

Shimla, under the Deodars

Holidays provide the ultimate luxury of slowing down to enjoy the magical mornings and priceless sunsets. So to enjoy life’s simple pleasures… I head to the mountains.

Queen of Hills is where I’d rather be but anywhere else. Just like Britisher saw it while they were bossing around in India & made Shimla, the Summer capital of colonial India. Suspended clouds, hanging Houses, spectacular Deodar trees & deep forest valley what not to like being in Shimla.

Shimla holds a rich baggage of colonial history which can easily be seen in historic architecture and culture oldies follow here. Men here get suits up in morning and head toward cafes for endless cups of coffee & chatting.

View from my window
The Viceregal Lodge

The Viceregal Lodge is also known as Rashtrapati Bhawan. It was built in 1888 and was used as the office and residence of the Viceroy of India, during the Summers when Shimla became India’s capital.

Scottish Architecture of the Lodge

While visiting the lodge I realised why Britishers must be shifting their base during summers. The View is incredible from this hill and interiors inside are to die for made from Imported Burmese Teak wood and has antiques, old books, photographs, Chandeliers and being equipped with Fire Safety System of that era.

Endless Circles

This Ceiling is of Kashmiri Walnut wood and it doesn’t need polishing and been called endless circles. Magnificent Isn’t it.

Matching with Fire Engine.

World’s Tallest Status of Lord Hanuman at Jakku Temple

Ancient Jakku Temple situated on the highest peak of Shimla. The View from the Top is incredible.

Gaiety Heritage Cultural Theatre

Gaiety Theatre is 128 years old and one of its kind in Asian Continent. There’s been only two Theatres in the whole world of Victorian Gothic Architecture. Gaiety Halls is a miniature version of Albert Hall in London. Truly a preserved piece of history in the hills.

There is no Artifical Acoustics in the hall, Only this Green colour Paper, imported from France makes the sound travel.

Shimla has surprised me in many ways. It has a lot to offer only if you can explore. Hope you all enjoyed my pictures.
